The book "99 Zukunftsobjekte aus der Lausitz" tells inspiring stories of innovation, transformation, and optimism in the region. With over 140 contributors, it is a collaborative project showcasing objects that represent the future of Lausitz. Attomol is proud to be part of this collection, contributing to the region’s innovative development through our work in biotechnology and diagnostics.

Here is the full article from the book about Attomol:

Attomol GmbH, founded in 1997, develops in-vitro diagnostics using innovative technologies. One of its outstanding projects is the Lipten Chip, which detects multiple molecules simultaneously using differently colored microparticles. The development of this multiplex method began in 2000 and required specialized evaluation software and a new measuring device that operates with a microscope and automated image processing.

In 2002, Attomol and other partners founded the research association BioResponse e.V. to advance this complex technology. The collaboration was supported by funding from the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. Despite major challenges in device and software development, Attomol continued the project independently, taking responsibility and successfully completing the Caleidoscan 300 and Caleidoamp 100 measuring devices.

To support this effort, Attomol initiated approximately 30 research projects with the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg and other partners, resulting in more than 60 publications and ten patents. The technology gained international recognition not only through these scientific contributions but also through the "International Biotech Innovation Days," launched by Attomol in Senftenberg in 2001.

For Attomol’s sustainable development, further investments were necessary in Lipten, where a historic manor was recently modernized to establish a high-tech site. Lipten is part of the municipality of Bronkow in the Oberspreewald-Lausitz district. The certification of most products under the In Vitro Diagnostic Regulation (IVDR) in 2024 secured Attomol and its 30 employees a promising future. We are therefore optimistic about realizing our vision of unique Attomol products for multiplex diagnostics based on our proprietary technology platform.
